One Injured Following House Fire in Mineral County

One person is hospitalized after a fire in Mineral County. The fire broke out at about 7:30 pm on October 7th at a home on E&R Path just off of Hooker Hollow Road. New Creek Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dustin Amtower says they received the call during their meeting and units were able to leave the station to respond within two minutes. He says the fire was contained to an upstairs room. Amtower says the fire was under control in about 10 minutes and the cause remains under investigation. There was heat and smoke damage throughout the second floor of the home. One person was taken from the scene to Potomac Valley Hospital. A child in the room at the time of the fire notified the other occupants of the blaze.
